Paceman Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Worries.

'Major setback' for the touring side as Atkinson is forced off due to a hamstring issue.

The pace bowler increased England's injury problems when he left the playing area on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

The pace bowler felt a problem in his hamstring post-delivery in his spell at the MCG.

The England team stated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and was to take time off the field for further assessment "during the day".

The final Test in this Ashes battle in Sydney starts at the end of the week.

The visitors have already lost fast bowlers Mark Wood due to knee trouble and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party as injury reinforcement.

The seamer had a tough time during the first two matches, claiming a mere three wickets.

He was left out for the Adelaide match, before being recalled for the Boxing Day match as Archer's replacement.

Surrey's Atkinson performed better in the fourth Test, claiming a couple of wickets in Australia's first innings, before adding 28 while batting among just a trio of teammates who passed ten runs.

Following a brief spell at the end of day one, he returned the next day and had nightwatchman taken by the wicketkeeper.

Unfortunately, at the end of his spell, he sent down a variation to the batsman and suddenly grabbed at his leg.

Atkinson was brought back for the Boxing Day Test having missed the Adelaide game.
