Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.
A high-ranking representative commented the attack rendered him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
