The under-pressure manager declared he was not afraid of losing his job, maintaining, “The team is extremely close to a turnaround,” in the wake of sliding worryingly close to being fired with a heavy defeat by their arch-rivals.

Another Collapse Leads to Derby Disaster

Nancy remains focused on the fact his team show good levels for 45 minutes at a time. Indeed, were it not for poor finishing they might have been greater than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I have also to be objective.

“The standard we had at times was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not say that if it was different. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I mentioned this is the same story. For that reason I believe we are really close to a shift in fortunes. Currently: the fine margins.”

“We produced plenty of positives that we did, once more. The issue now comes down to performing for 90 minutes. My outlook would be different if I didn't believe it. This is why I firmly believe we will manage to turn things around.”

Röhl’s Cautious Response

Rangers manager played down talk of a title charge even after what appeared to be a landmark win. “One match at a time, and we can really build up something here,” he said. “The confidence in the group is excellent.”
