Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down following a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of talented individuals. The song showcases a mix of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the initiative have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
