Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Finn, who appeared in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
